Four killed, seven injured in shooting in Mexico

Four people were killed and seven injured in a shooting attack that occurred on Saturday afternoon and evening in the 20 de Noviembre colony of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, according to preliminary versions reported by local media citing official sources. The incident happened on Durango Street, near the corner with Jalisco, during a family gathering. So far, the identities of the deceased have not been released, although it is indicated that they could be members of the same family. After the incident, multiple calls were made to 911, and Municipal Police elements, State Public Security Forces, National Guard, paramedics, and Army personnel arrived at the scene. Experts from the Guanajuato State Attorney General's Office (FGE) began the collection of evidence and shell casings, and the bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service. The area was cordoned off while ground and air operations were conducted, including a state helicopter, in search of those responsible. The FGE opened an investigation file into the facts. As of the last report, no arrests had been made. Neighbors reported more than 50 shots. Witnesses described that the family gathering was proceeding peacefully before the attack and that some were able to observe the aggressors shooting from the door of the house. Among the injured is a 22-year-old young man. Some injured were transported by family members or on their own to local hospitals to receive medical attention. Witnesses indicated that at around 7:20 p.m., a silver-colored vehicle arrived at the scene and from it several men got out, four of whom would have participated directly in the attack. The aggressors shot at the attendees and then fled the scene in the same vehicle, in an unknown direction.
